A First Recognition, Close to Home

Some milestones stay with you because they arrive when everything is still new.

In 2023, less than a year after selling our first candle, Berryline received its very first award: Platinum in the Candles category at CommunityVotes Windsor.

We had spent nearly two years developing our formulations and shaping the brand before our first sale on August 23, 2022. But no amount of preparation could tell us how people would respond once our candles reached their homes.

Receiving that recognition from our own community was an encouraging moment. Something we'd worked on so privately was beginning to find a place in other people's lives.

One of our early customers, Mimi Blue, captured that connection in words we've remembered ever since:

“I bet heaven smells like Berryline Cotton Candle! My go-to inspiration scent whenever I need to focus on my arts and music!”

Her words reminded us that fragrance can become part of someone's personal routines, memories, and creative moments.

The award didn't mean our work was finished. We were still learning, refining, and discovering what Berryline could become.

But it gave us a reason to look back, even briefly, and appreciate how far we'd come.
